Donut King partners with mental health not-for-profit LIVIN

Retail Food Group's Donut King has partnered with mental health not-for-profit LIVIN to tackle mental health awareness, raise much-needed funds to support critical mental health education programs in schools and to give back to the community by encouraging open conversations about mental health.

As part of the partnership, Donut King has made LIVIN’s LIVINWell In Work program available to its entire network, from the leadership team and head office staff right through to franchise partners, store managers and casual store staff, in a bid to better equip team members when it comes to mental health tools and education.

The move comes after the launch of a recent partnership with LIVIN, where Donut King announced it had turned its famous hot cinnamon donut RED for the month of March, and for every box pack of donuts* purchased in stores during March, Donut King will donate $1 to LIVIN to a maximum of $100,000.00.

Donut King Marketing Manager Raquel Hine said the LIVINWell In Work program is a mental health education and stigma reduction program for workplaces and Donut King is among organisations such as Coles, KPMG, Google, Ubisoft and more who have participated in the program.

“Mental health and wellbeing is one of the most prolific issues impacting young people today, so this partnership with LIVIN is absolutely a step in the right direction to support and upskill our team on mental health awareness.”

“We’re so proud we can support LIVIN in a really tangible way while also supporting the thousands of people who contribute to Donut King’s success around Australia, and in doing so, their friends and family will be impacted in a positive way too,” she said.

Just last week, Donut King and LIVIN attended Merrimac High School to present LIVIN's potentially life changing mental health program, LIVINWell. The 45 minute sessions help to educate students on how mental health can affect people their age, how to start meaningful conversations about mental health, and what to look out for if they think someone is struggling.

Donut King was on board to give out free RED hot cinnamon donuts to students on completion of the program - the iconic donut house has turned their famous hot cinni donuts red to raise awareness for mental health. Not only that, Donut King has delivered the LIVINWell program, to all staff members.

Donut King Franchise Partner Paul Edwards said he is proud to champion the LIVIN partnership during the campaign period, and grateful to Donut King for making the LIVINWell Program available to all team members across the network.

“As someone who lives with and supports a person who is impacted by mental health issues, I think it is a great move and there is no doubt that I will be encouraging all of my team members to participate in the LIVINWell In Work program, and will also be supporting the marketing campaign and fundraising initiative in all of my Donut King stores,” he said.

LIVIN Co-Founder Casey Lyons said the LIVINWell In Work program was developed to equip people with tools to manage their own mental health, but also to break the stigma around mental health challenges and conversations, both in the workplace and at home.

“We have an incredible opportunity here to generate mental health awareness across the country, and we are so grateful for the Donut King team who believe in our mission, support our message and genuinely want to do good within their own community, and the boarder community too,” he said.

Donut King is partnering with LIVIN throughout the month of March, and to support the campaign, head to your local Donut King and grab a box of donuts and Donut King will donate $1 to LIVIN.
