About Us

Tired of the boring stereotypes associated with the Gold Coast, Blank was founded in 2013 by Samantha Morris and Chloe Popa, when they decided to take matters into their own hands – to capture the best bits of the region and share them with people who care about community, sustainability and culture.

Blank is driven by a genuine desire to share the stories of the people who make our local communities so special and we try to keep things as simple as possible to affect change as efficiently as we can.

Launched as a print magazine, we have grown our community to include around 30,000 print readers every issue, with an additional 35,000 visiting us online each month. Initially covering the Gold Coast, we have continued to expand our reach outside of the region to now include distribution and editorial inclusion covering Logan, Brisbane and Northern New South Wales

With a writing team that includes novice, amateur and emerging writers as well as experienced music, culture and lifestyle journalists and a management team with a strong belief in community engagement, we are proud to be a homegrown, women-led business and we are fiercely independent.
