Home of the Arts (HOTA) is set to shine this spring with a dazzling showcase of contemporary art and sound for the return of 'WONDER' October 6 to 15.
'WONDER' invites visitors to celebrate the changing of season with spectacular art and performance in the outdoors.
This year's hero piece, 'Borealis' by Dan Acher, will illuminate the night sky and envelop the Outdoor Stage with colour, light and sound.
The immersive installation and spectacular outdoor art show exhibited around the world brings the experience and magical allure of the Northern Lights, Aurora Borealis, to the heart of the Gold Coast.
Brought to life by internationally renowned artist, Dan Acher, 'Borealis' seamlessly merges state-of-the-art technology with the evocative musical composition by Guillaume Desbois, resulting in a mesmerising symphony of light and sound that is sure to captivate audiences.
"'WONDER' is a celebration of art's boundless possibilities with a stunning interplay of light, colour and sound under the stars," said HOTA Interim CEO, Mik Aukland.
"HOTA first showcased 'Borealis' back in 2019 and we're thrilled to have this spectacular experience back on the Gold Coast, with a packed program of live music, food and additional events on select nights across the program," he said.
Throughout the 10 nights of 'WONDER', Borealis is free to experience and will grace the skies of HOTA's Outdoor Stage, immersing the audience in its stunning display.
Experience soulful sounds by the MZAZA ensemble as the sun sets. The group melds accordion, violin, percussion, double bass, flamenco guitar, and vocals on HOTA's Outdoor Stage for this special edition of Friday's on the Lawn on October 6. This relaxed, picnic-style event promises an evening of magic and camaraderie.
Inspired by lights, play, colour, and wonder, families seeking an immersive outing will delight in the Kids Play Space of Wonder & Colour on October 6 and 14, where HOTA's Lawn Bar will be transformed into a whimsical wonderland for children to explore and enjoy.
For those craving a sensory feast, Night Bites Under Lights on October 14, offers a mouth-watering array of culinary delights and street fare, accompanied by the awe-inspiring display of 'Borealis' in the night sky.
Bring your family and friends as Goodwill Projects (organisers of HOTA's Farmers and Night Markets) take over the lawn for the second last night of WONDER.
Featuring the award-winning 10-piece mega band, Sunny Coast's Rude Boys will deliver the soundtrack to your night feast.
With a pop-up bar and dedicated kids play space, there is something for everyone in this food market of wonderland.
