Live Review: PRICELE$$ at HOTA Underground

The Farm's Greenhouse is a revolutionist youth theatre performance training event, with a unique take on our modern world.

A dozen Gold Coast young people worked on this challenging piece of ensemble theatre, curating and creating a mix of modern music and words to inspire the audience to question the nature of truth. Dancing perilously close to the edge, they ran back and forth across the stage full of delight and dismay.

Recently, I caught up with Kiarna, in the middle, at The Farm's Social Muscle Club, and asked her about her experience.

"It's about contracts, contracting real agreements in our lives, literally, and captivating our perceptions." says Kiarna.

Crazy in-the-moment costume changes and colourful use of found fabrics made the show fascinating and fabulous to watch. The dancer performers each one of them stars in a ringmaster's circus of wonder.

Ultimately hopeful, and generous in their brash love for both their own emerging selves and the audience, this troupe are bound to appear in multiple marvellous ways locally and beyond over the next few years. I'll certainly be looking out for their next big break.
