Dive into an afternoon of contemporary art experiences at HOTA Parklands in celebration of National Water Week.
Sensing Water in Place: Connecting with the sounds, smells, and stories of water invites you to connect with local artists Daniele Constance and Lowana Davies, and with sounds, smells, and stories ‘united by water’.
Experience our local waterways and tune into the local ecologies with like-minded communities. Get your toes wet, participate in some citizen science, and sip on a drop of native botanical infused water!
What to expect: Follow your nose and join artist Lowana Davies for Catching a Whiff, a walking tour through the smells of HOTA Parklands. An amalgamation of science, performance, and olfaction, Catching a Whiff guides participants through an array of sensory surprises and delights, engaging in fresh and salt water, natives plants, and conversations.
Tune into the HOTA Parklands for Streaming and experience our local waterways and the ecologies that they support through the artwork of Daniele Constance. Connecting participants with water, both sonically and physically, Streaming is an immersive experience that draws awareness to the future of water and the flora and fauna that inhabit them.
Discover local and First Nations knowledge about our waterways, and how we can explore them and nurture them, in Water Talk. This conversational gathering and shared cup of iced-tea at the water's edge of the HOTA lake is hosted by the artist and will bring together local experts.
Watery refreshments and sunscreen will be provided.
