Xavier Rudd and Bobby Alu to open Byron’s newest live music venue: The Green Room

Aussie favourites Xavier Rudd and Bobby Alu will open The Green Room; Byron's brand-new 1500-capacity live music venue on Saturday 26 November.

Like a bird set free, Xavier Rudd's made the most of a post-COVID world by doing what he loves most - touring. To support his latest album, 'Jan Juc Moon', Xavier is set to perform live on no less than 88 occasions in 2022 across the globe.

Having already wrapped up his sold-out 37-date Australian tour from May through July, he is now on a 50-date tour through Europe that began September 9 in Porto, Portugal and ends in Antwerp in Belgium on November 10. By the time Xavier finishes his European run, he'll have performed in Portugal, Spain, France, UK, Ireland, Germany, Sweden, Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Croatia, Italy, Switzerland, Netherlands, and Belgium.

Wrapping up his tour on Saturday, November 26, Xavier is to play his 88th and final show when he opens The Green Room; a 1500 + capacity venue on the Bluesfest site.

"It's been a massive year and I'm stoked to play my final show on Bundjalung Country to finish things off. This new Green Room venue is gonna be great for the Byron area and I'm excited to launch this new space," says Xavier.

The Green Room was constructed and completed earlier this year on the very ground where all Bluesfest artists prepared themselves before hitting the Bluesfest stages.

Bluesfest Director Peter Noble is eager to open this new venue with such respected local talent.

"I'm absolutely delighted that Xavier Rudd will be the first artist to perform in The Green Room"

"People speak of hallowed ground.
