Tourist in my Town: Spa Weekend at RACV Royal Pines Resort

A spa in a tent, you say? Sounds bizarre. But in fact, it’s quite wonderful. And it could just be a part of your next staycay. With an onsite spa, sprawling golf course and six dining options, RACV Royal Pines Resort offers the perfect locale for couples, golfers and families alike.

The RACV Royal Pines Resort itself is positioned between Gold Coast's spectacular hinterland and its coastal suburbs, giving 360-degree views of the city and the mountains. However you choose to enjoy your leisure time, you can’t beat the location. Why? It’s the closest large resort to Springbrook National Park hikes and just a five-minute drive from sporting events at Heritage Bank Stadium.

Set on the edge of RACV Royal Pines Resort’s extensive golf courses, is One Spa. This wellness precinct makes use of various water features and each of the eight treatment rooms overlook dazzling waterways, with their own balcony and outdoor shower. The spa rituals are well-thought-out with complementary essential oils and botanicals as well as water-inspired therapies; which along with the heated spa beds add to its feeling of cosy indulgence.

Whichever architectural genius imagined the way the sky-high canvas ceilings would light the rooms below had a true vision. The treatment rooms are positioned along a winding corridor which gives the illusion of infinite space, and with no solid ceiling any sound just evaporates, leaving a calming silence. The light paired with tall textured walls have somewhat of a futuristic or space-age quality about them, making you feel further removed from the everyday and allowing you to relax fully into your spa experience.

The great thing about a staycation here is that you don’t actually have to go anywhere during it. The resort itself has plenty of activities and six different dining options, including high tea with a view at Videre on Level 21. Or opt for Tee’s Clubhouse with live music on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

RACV Royal Pines Resort is not just for the spa goers and golfers either. Families are more than catered for with a splash park complete with water slides, playground, jumping pillow, a pool heated to 26 degrees year-round and tennis courts as well as family-friendly Italian and Japanese restaurants. For families or groups, two-bed family suites or interconnecting rooms offer generously convenient accommodation.

Speaking of the rooms, the resort’s interior has just had a multi-million dollar coastal-themed revamp. Each suite has a modern airy feel with fresh fixtures, fittings and artwork by Australian artists to compliment the fantastic hinterland views.

Take advantage of their current deal, which includes a free room upgrade, buffet breakfast and late check-out when you book your staycation at RACV Royal Pines Resort from $249 before 30 September for travel before 22 Dec 2023.
