Thanks to grants, fundraising and the passionate crew at Friends of Gold Coast Regional Botanic Gardens, an electric eight-seater people mover is now making the impressive Benowa grounds more accessible.
The lush Gold Coast Regional Botanic Gardens at Rosser Park go on for an expansive 32 hectares.
Now, an eight-seater electric people mover, the Botanic Gardens Glider, is available for tours. The new Glider allows those with limited mobility the opportunity to experience and enjoy this bountiful landscape.
Each tour takes 50 minutes to an hour, accompanied by knowledgeable and entertaining commentary. All attendees will have the rare opportunity to learn about the interesting history of the site, the plants and the garden's wildlife.
Gold Coast Regional Botanic Gardens' first planting took place in 2003. And though it's considered young by world standards, the impressive growth of regional native species has increased biodiversity and vital conservation of endangered plant species.
This initiative of the Friends of the Botanic Gardens invites everyone aboard to experience this environmental Gold Coast treasure.
Tours depart from the Sensory Garden Pavillion and are open 930-1045am Tuesdays and Thursdays and every first and third Saturday at 10am.
Come along to visit the gardens, celebrate the widespread community involvement and learn about this incredible Gold Coast locale.
For $5 per person, be sure to book ahead here.
