Welcome to edition 100!
There are really no words to describe how proud and stoked we all are to be able to have delivered 100 editions of Blank across the Gold Coast region over the last nine and a half years. Blank turns 10 in December, and that’s no mean feat for a totally free, unassuming little street press. The changes to the Gold Coast during that time have been incredible, and we feel privileged to have been able to write about them as they’ve happened.
For those who have been with us since the beginning, both contributors and readers, we offer up the most humble thanks. We would never have survived without you. In fact, we nearly didn’t survive, a couple of times. But thanks to your support, and our own passion for being Gold Coast’s independent cultural voice, we’ve pulled through long enough to be able to reach this incredible milestone.
Within you’ll find a slight tweak to our usual content. In honour of this special bumper edition, we have included ten “listicles” of ten items each (totalling 100!); GC musical acts who’ve made a name for themselves, enviro orgs, foodie moments, surf breaks, skate parks, artists, historically significant moments on the GC and more. It’s a celebration of our awesome city and some of the cool stuff we’ve been able to cover over the years.
