New music premiere: Georgia Hoareau's 'GIRL'

Welcome to the premiere the single 'GIRL' by Gold Coast star-on-the-rise Georgis Hoareau. You can get your first listen right here.

'GIRL' is a super catchy and poetic pop song, about feeling incomplete and knowing you have to get over someone who’s no longer in your life. The lyrics “Now I’m waiting for the day that you call, to talk about how you miss it all” combined with Georgia's heavenly vocals and melodic stylings had us breaking out in goosies, and we're sure you're gonna feel the same.

Georgia Hoareau might be young, but she is a talented singer-songwriter with a huge heart, an incredible voice, and plenty of stories to tell. We caught up with her in between recording with producer Joel Myles at HeadAtlas Studio in Brisbane.

Please tell us in your own words, what’s your new single GIRL about?

It’s a break-up song I wrote about a personal experience. It’s wondering if the other person is miserable without you. Although the song is about moving on, it’s about hoping they miss you as much as you miss them.

Who inspires you?

I’ve been listening to Gracie Abrams. She is an amazing artist and her songwriting is epic. I feel like she’s defined the ‘bedroom pop’ genre, with her intimate lyrics and emotive songs which are dramatic but relatable. Lizzy McAlpine is another amazing artist, I love her production, her writing and her voice is incredible. Her music inspires me to write!

Tell us a bit about your band, and where we can see you live?

My band is made of up of my three favourite musicians! My brother Wil on guitar, Harry J Hart on bass and Jay Wolfe on drums. I’m really lucky to have them as my band, they are all like brothers to me and they’re so fun to play with.

We’ll be playing the new single and songs from the EP live at Mo’s Desert Clubhouse on Friday 8 July, opening for Greta Stanley.

'GIRL' is the first single from Georgia’s new EP, which is due for release early September. Have a listen to 'GIRL' here. Check out her other songs, 'Therapy'' and '17' and follow her journey @georgiahoareaumusic.
