The artistic flair and talent of the Tweed and surrounds will be on display through the Murwillumbah Arts Trail on the weekend of 28 - 29 May 2022.  

Weaving in and around Murwillumbah, the creative heart of the Tweed, and into the surrounding villages, the Murwillumbah Arts Trail (MAT) showcases artists from across the region, offering the community a chance to see them at work, participate in art activities and purchase unique works directly from the artists. 

Enjoy a drive through some of the most picturesque countrysides in Australia from coast to hinterland villages, discovering back roads and hidden treasures in the hills like the Murwillumbah Potters in Fernvale and the Community Printmakers in Stokers Siding.  

This year the village of Tumbulgum will be joining the trail with an outdoor sculpture exhibition at the beautiful Husk Distillery - celebrating contemporary works by sculpture artists from the region and also a collection of artists exhibiting at stunning The Belle Riverhouse right on the banks of the mighty Tweed River.

MAT culminates on Saturday night with a colourful soiree at the M|Arts Precinct 'Art After Dark', where artists open their doors to their studios to welcome visitors and sell their wares. Enjoy live music and street food to celebrate as creative communities of the Tweed come together.  

Discover some of the region's best-kept secrets, meet the artists, book into a creative workshop and visit the quaint villages tucked into the valleys around Wollumbin Mount Warning with exhibitions in the historic buildings and visit the plethora of boutiques and cafes along the way.

The Murwillumbah Arts Trail was the winner of the 2021 Tweed Australia Day Community Event of the Year award.
