Live Review: Greta Stanley | Mo’s Desert Clubhouse | 8 July 2022

After what was a sombre two years across the music industry, pop artist Greta Stanley has cemented her physical presence back on the touring syndicate with her current regional tour aptly titled 'Real Shows In Real Life'. We got the chance to catch her Gold Coast gig at Mo's Desert Clubhouse on 8 July 2022, which was a stunning night to remember.

Dreaming of red dirt and going somewhere towards, or away from Far North Queensland, Greta Stanley is singing songs that kick, make you feel better and sport lyrics about moving on from heartache such as "I’ll get up and get over you".

Looking great and singing beautifully, her songs are about life and love. Occasionally weaving in a country tune, Greta also brings out the harmonica to remind the audience just how much she loves her bass player and partner Bronson. Later in her set, she launches into her recent Triple J Like A Version cover of the Foo Fighters ‘Everlong’ and it’s exactly as you expect — captivating!

Prior to Greta, we had India Dupriez, bringing her unique take on well-known covers before belting out popular original dance tunes, that will cure to see her the darling of dance clubs around the GC for a while.

First up, and stealing the show, was none other than gorgeous local love, Georgia Hoareau. Singing up a storm with brother Wil on guitar, Harry J Hart right at home on the bass and Jay Wolff on drums. Premiering unreleased songs from her yet-to-be-titled EP, this teaming is awesome! We can be sure Georgia is going to make waves with her hard-hitting originals and amazing vocal talent.

Catch Georgia Hoareau performing solo at Mo’s Desert Clubhouse again on Thursday 21 July and launching her new EP at The Basement at HOTA on 16th September.
